The Center of Your Plan

The social media websites want to be the hub of everyone's life and business.  The software geniuses create platforms which will be easier to use, faster to set up and of course a bit more fun.  The goal for them is to be a utility company which of course creates "automatic income."

Above you will see a mindmap which shows a strategy for how to think about taking a business online.  This was made with TheBrain.  This mindmap shows one primary website at the core with all others as either roads or doors to the hub.

At the hub is where conversion happens.  Conversions occur when the visitor is willing to give an introduction with an email or make a payment.

How fast is your website? Load Speed Matters

How fast is your website?  How fast does it load?  Regardless of what Google Blog or other search engines say about speed affecting seo and page rank, there will be no business success if people leave because of a slow page load.  The Internet speeds for mobile are notched up dramatically as you will now see advertisements for 4G speed.  If the website for your business is slow to load?  It will become a dinosaur and be passed by.

As a business owner...

  • You don't want to be a programmer nor do you want to spend the hours necessary to keep up with the technical jargon.

  • What you need to know is how fast your website load times are relative to your competitors.  Also consider what your customers say is acceptable.  Your website may be too slow simply because your customers say so.  To have a tool to measure success will help you speak to the person(s) who are responsible for website design or graphics.

Here are three easy tools to analyze page load speed for your business website.

Pingdom - The Full Page Test loads a complete HTML page including all objects (images, CSS, JavaScripts, RSS, Flash and frames/iframes).  It mimics the way a page is loaded in a web browser.

The load time of all objects is shown visually with time bars.

You can view the list of objects either in load order or as a hierarchy.  The hierarchy view allows you to see which objects are linked to, for example a CSS file.

Every test also shows general statistics about the loaded page such as the total number of objects, total load time, and size including all objects.

That is a pretty brave claim to say this is the best email marketing services list on the planet!  If you think not, please point out another.  Included here are free email marketing service options along with options for large volume companies.  I threw in a few fun email tools to keep it interesting.  Never again say, "What are the options to send customers email?"  Or, "What email management systems are out there?"  At last count, there was 138. At least 10 are free.

Quoth Google... Nevermore    - by Bill Romer

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a hyped and oversold product of internet fame,
While I nodded, kind of sleeping, suddenly my computer beeping,
As if some virtual sales assistant was calling out my name.
"‘Tis some gimmic," I muttered, "flashing on my screen -
Plenty of these things I have seen."

How to Look Busy at Work Without Really Working

If you're getting paid to do something, you should do it, and do it well. But is it always that simple? What if you have a vague job description, a haphazard workload, and a very bad boss who is only content when you look busy, but not if you're super efficient? Sad to say, but sometimes working at your maximum potential is punished. This happens a lot in larger  organizations and retail.
