Seven Habits of Highly Effective Managers

7habitsofhighlyeffectivepeople.jpgWith The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Managers  top of mind, make a commitment yourself and to others:

Be Proactive

I will plan my week / month / year in advance vs reacting to the moment.

Begin with the end in mind

I will have a mission & vision, think ahead, and know in advance what the objectives are before I make decisions.

First things first

I will spend time & energy on what helps to achieve the mission vs what seems to be urgent. Examples include: Interviewing weekly, training, guerilla marketing, & planning.

Think win-win

I will have healthy relationships with the staff, customers (and boss) and everyone walks away from each contact with value.

Seek first to understand, then be understood

I will personally connect with no less than XXX% of my customers AND I will connect with each person on my team to understand their likes / dislikes and their goals.

Synergize

I will find ways to leverage individual differences to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts, especially when there are conflicting views.

Sharpen the saw

I will take time out of production to build production capacity through personal renewal of the physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual dimensions.
