best blogs in restaurant

While there is no indication of how the list of the best 60 blogs in the restaurant industry was chosen, there are several names I recognize and am honored to be side by side with.

Scanning down the list,  you will find profoundly outrageous blog names right from the start which will may offend you.  For people in the hospitality business to become the opposite of hospitable seems a contradiction.  I will probably not spend time venturing into those which "get in my face" from the start with obnoxious names.

Joel Cohen is on the list and you will find him passionate and creative as he presents marketing ideas.

Headhunter Brian is certainly one to keep up with.  In my younger years, there was a belief that a better job was just around the corner.  When working in a restaurant management role, there seems to be very little time to do more than work vs. planning a move for one's career.  Brian can be of assistance.

If you have been in the restaurant business for any length of time, you will probably recognize FOHBOH, Zagat and National Restaurant Association

Here is the reality:  Time.  There is certainly no time to read all 60 blogs on a regular basis.

Solution: Set-up a Google Alert for the topic which interests you the most.  Google sends you relevant articles vs. doing a constant search.

By setting up alerts in Google or a Reader via Google, you will cut down on search time and spend more time with your guests and training staff.

To be on the list of "The Best" is an honor.  More importantly, BSchool.com may have done a bit of homework for you as they narrow it down and keep it real.

If you know of a restaurant industry blog that should be on the list, feel free to post it below.
