Is Groupon worthwhile?  Does using Groupon help make a business profitable?  This infographic paints a terrible picture for a business to do restaurant marketing via Groupon.  It seems easy enough to use for those who want to order advertising.

What is the process for evaluatiing which restaurant marketing methods will grow sales AND profits?  If you are using deal of the day offers, it makes sense to think about more than the transaction.  Use the restaurant planning calendar and marketing spreadsheets to calculate in advance how you will grow sales and profits:

I wholeheartedly agree with the infographic and recently wrote a blog post about it. <a>http://www.sendmethemanager.com/blogs/groupon-for-restaurant-businesses Although there are instances of restaurants succeeding with Groupon, I believe that the huge risks associated with such promotions outweigh the potential benefits.

Here's another idea for restaurants to do a better job with Local Store Marketing. Dine-and-Donate Spirit Nights are also really effective when building new customers. the website iswww.groupraise.com, restaurants can also list for free and get connected with local groups.
