Jessica Markowitz, Founder of Richards Rwanda IMPUHWE, is a recent recipient of a scholarship from Jean Hamilton, Founder and Principle of Speaking Results, the scholarship helped prepare Jessica for a presentation at the Women In Innovation Summit in Seattle, WA.  - Speaking Results has recently awarded Jessica Markowitz, Founder of Richards Rwanda IMPUHWE, a scholarship to support the organization's cause. Richards Rwanda IMPUHWE is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 by Jessica Markowitz when she was just 11 years old. A youth run organization, IMPUHWE raises money for 40 girls' education in a rural village of Rwanda. Jessica named the organization after Richard when he came to stay with her family back in 2006. After hearing stories about the genocide she decided to act. IMPUHWE means compassion in the native language of Rwanda and stands for inspire, motivate, powerful, undiscovered, hopeful, women, (with), education.  Full Article>

Local Businesses get HOOPLA-ized with IGNITE-U

  
  
  

Local event included local talent Folsom Prism, a Johnny Cash tribute band, great food from the Emerald Queen Casino catering department and nearly 100 vendors.  On September 13th those who attended the Ignite-U event at the event in North Tacoma couldn’t help but be HOOPLA-ized when they walked into the Showroom at the Emerald Queen Casino. Nearly 100 local businesses were in attendance showcasing their wares. The attendees raved about the entertainment from a local Johnny Cash tribute band 'Folsom Prism' as fantastic and the Emerald Queen Casino catering department served a spread for all to enjoy.. Over 1100 people were in attendance to enjoy the music, food and do a little shopping.  Full article.
