How Does Your Website Look on a Mobile Device - Test Free

Testing your website on mobile devices is now fast, easy and simple with Keynote MITE (Mobile Internet Testing Environment).  Hubspot has an automatic system to make your website mobile friendly but you will still want to look at the website on a mobile device to truly know how well it is designed.

Fortunately, Keynote MITE is a free program you can download and test your website for over 2,000 mobile devices.  Since the mobile website sales people are now out in force,  you will want to consider the reality of your online presence to be prepared before they try to convince you that the end of the world has happened.  This video gives an overview for how Keynote Mite works:

As you can see by the video, Keynote systems allows you to interactively test your website in real time and check compatibility againse W3C best practices and more.  Learn more at mite.keynote.com.

Before any business owner can know if this is important, analytics are needed to determine the number of visits by mobile devices.  Google Analytics and Google Webmaster tools provides free information and lets you know what types of browsers are being used by visitors to your website.

If 8% of the visits to your website are from mobile devices, is this enough to warrant spending additional time and expense to have your website not only mobile friendly but mobile optimized?

Keynote MITE evaluates the details of your website on a mobile device:

What is interesting about Keynote MITE is its ability to evaluate each piece of your website and show you step by step what needs to improve.  In five minutes, you have a list of what tweaks and fixes need to be made and you have a live view of what your website will look like.

Since Keynote MITE has evaluated my website and scored it a 54 for mobile ready, I will begin to review the list they provide of "fixes" to make.  (Most of which are simple to do.)

If you do not add this to your knowledge base, in three years you will look back and wish you had.  Just as those now who ignored websites, social media and inbound marketing are scrambling to keep up as their businesses decline, a lack of mobile readiness will have potential buyers bypassing your business to find ones that are easier to do business with.

Google is doing it...
