Google is shutting down the Photo Editing Service Picnik

 

Google to shutter Picnik, photo-editing service with Seattle roots

Google is shutting down Picnik, the online photo-editing service founded in Seattle and acquired by Google less than two years ago. In a blog post on Friday, Google said the cuts will allow the Picnik team to "continue creating photo-editing magic across Google products."

The service will shut down on April 19th, but Google said users can download a zip file of their creations through Picnik Takeoutor copy them to Google+. Other products getting the ax include Google Sky Map and Social Graph API.
