Do Aliens Have Souls?
The world was peaceful this morning. That was before the gadgets and the media devices, and prior to social media marketing. Once the tools and gadgets are turned on, the distractions begin.
The successful entrepreneur has little time for distractions. When the noise begins each day, there might be an impulse to turn everything off. The successful entrepreneur does NOT put their head in the sand to ignore the reality of the world. To focus on what is essential without diversion is an aquired skill.
If you are reading this now because of the crazy blog title: "Do Aliens Have Souls" I have to wonder about YOUR focus. What is it that brought you here?
Is it important to your business success to know more about aliens and their souls? Since the existence of aliens has been proven only to be true in the movies, it is a foregone conclusion that you are losing focus.
In a sense you failed the "focus test" and allowed someone to create a title to cause you to react. When you are at the stage where knowing about aliens is a part of the business plan; at that time you can turn the search engines: "Do Aliens Have Souls" and the giant database will give you information.
Here are more examples of daily distractions for you:

Maybe there will be aliens discovered on Mercury, the permanent anti-fog coating will not be liked by kissers in cars on Lover's Peak and a sock puppet program? Really? They perk interest and prove there is more to life but can be a distraction which can hurt execution and customer service.
For those specific topics, terms, words, brands and phrases which are of interest, setting up alerts brings the information automatically to your inbox.
I use Hubspot which has a tool built in which monitors the Internet automatically.
If you own a restaurant, GuestPulse will alert you of messages via branding.
If you lean on Twitter, SocialOomph is one of many tools which monitors Tweets for the phrases and sends an email with the summary based on keywords.
Google Alerts will keep you posted immediately when someone mentions a phrase. Free to set up. Have a separate email for this otherwise your email inbox will be overloaded.
Even the New York Times website has an alert system to let you know when a subject of interest is a news item.
Certainly, I appreciate that you are here and trust me to be helpful. It is, however, more important to focus on success. That will require producing, recruiting, marketing and yes.... business administrative maintenance.
