Who is an entrepreneur?

"An entrepreneur is a person who has possession of a new enterprise, venture or idea and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome.  The term is originally a loanword from French and was first defined by the Irish-French economist Richard Cantillon. Entrepreneur in English is a term applied to the type of personality who is willing to take upon himself a new venture or enterprise and accepts full responsibility for the outcome."   Wikipedia

Could this be interpreted as a "one person show"?  If a person is assuming the new venture or enterprise and willing to accept full responsibility, there might be a tendency to trust others less.  The consequences of marginal results by others has an immediate impact on an entrepreneur.

To first describe someone as an entrepreneur is to describe the type of business person they are vs. the focus of what value they bring to the world.  Is the best way to lead into a description of a person:  "Entrepreneur"?  Who will type into the Google search box this word?  What would they be looking for?  (Sales people might search using this term.)

Telling others "I am an entrepreneur" might also serve as a warning.  Such a statement might be translated to: "I make decisions and take risks but take complete responsibility for the results.  Have your ducks in a row before making a proposal."

Sure enough, there is a good chance the type of business you have is entrepreneurial but this has as many reasons to flag a business as it does to celebrate it.

Try leading with how you are conquering the world or changing the community.

Don't lead with the type of personality or function you might have.

Do support entrepreneurship.
