Health Care Law vs. Business Success | Articles and Videos

-------

Is your business concerned about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA)? (This is the new health care law.)

Do you believe this?:  "There will be no more business success because there is more taxes, more laws, more paperwork, and more obstacles."

It is time to shift gears and think again.  Changing with the ebb and flow of the culture and providing new products and services to meet the new demands is the way of the entrepreneur.  It was once said that computers would mean less paper. (It's true, they said this.)  New requirements will force you to look at your business differently.  If you believe that you can continue to operate a business the same year after year then you need to read up about the history and demise of the fax machine.

Right or wrong, smart or stupid, the evolution continues.  If you take a few moments to avoid the sarcasm and hype (and con artists), vote for that which you believe is best for you and your community, learn new ways to use technology and adapt, then you will thrive.  If your head is stuck in the mud then say goodbye to success.

To be sure there are resources about the new health care reform handy; I have collected them here.  Just as every video has its own tone, each of these resources has its own slant.  Listen between the lines and think of the new processes you will implement in regards to company organization, hiring, payroll, and more.

  • Will you outsource the administration functions to virtual assistants?
  • Will the new laws cause you to hire temps or contract labor?
  • Possibly you will rely more heavily on virtual assistants or freelance?
  • What type of organizational structure would be best suited for your business?
  • If you are competing head to head with larger companies, be sure to think how they will be affected.
  • Will you carry 1099's in your wallet to issue immediately?

Write down your questions.  Let me know your thoughts.  The accounting and legal businesses should get a surge, don't you think?

Here are the resources to learn more about the new Health Care Law and how it will impact your business:

That should get you started.  If you have an accountant or attorney who is too busy to learn the new ways of the land then your business will be in jeopardy.  Be sure to trust but verify.  In the end it will be up to you to maximize new opportunities.

I will think on this further and discover ways to use the new laws as marketing material.  A fun puzzle indeed!
