email signatureEmail connects 85 percent of the world, and it certainly is a key business communication tool for communicating with clients and vendors.  You may know how to use emails to build links for websites and SEO, but do you maximize your email signature to boost your marketing efforts?  Your signature probably shares who you are, your title and what you do – but you can also use your email signature to promote your brand and drive website traffic.  If you aren’t sure what you can promote through your email signature, take a look at these six terrific suggestions:

Your Website

At the very least, you need to promote your company’s website in your email signature.  For this tactic to be efficient your homepage should act like a landing page – which means it should direct the visitor’s attention to the activity you want them to see such as a free trial available or another special offer.  Through inclusion of your homepage in your email signature, you also spread awareness of your brand.

Your Blog

One of the smartest things you can include in your email signature is a link to your blog to increase subscribers.  Make it simple for readers to access your blog, and be sure you continue to post content to your blog every day – and that it’s relevant, engaging and of value to the community.

Social Media Pages

There are ways to make social media marketing easy, and your email signature can help you.  Go ahead and include icon links to your company or personal social media accounts in your email signature too.  Your personal social media accounts can help build your brand and spread who you are outside of your company, and will help people get to know you better and familiarize them with who you are.  Business social media accounts can help you grow the reach of your organization and build a greater following.  A direct link to your pages makes it easy for people to follow you. 

Free Tools

If your business has a free tool, give it some love in your email signature. Free online tools such as a game or trial to your product or service can engage your readers and get them further interested in what your business has to offer.

Conferences or Events

Have a trade show around the corner?  Speaking at an upcoming conference?  Reflect these events in your email signature.  While it may not boost the number of registrants at the upcoming event, it will help spread the word and serve as a reminder – and promote awareness among your target audience at the same time.

Product Demo

If you’re having a less than stellar sales month, try to use your email signature as a way to demonstrate your product.  This is a way to increase traffic and help boost sales.  Think outside of the box and take advantage of every way to bring in new customers.
